Is the era of working from home coming to an end in Australia?
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has ordered its workforce
of 49,000 employees to return to physically working from the office at least 50
per cent of the time from July. Chief executive Matt Comyn informed
the major bank’s employees in an email on Monday of the company's expectation
for staff to work in the office more frequently.
One of Australia's highest-ranking executives has ordered the end of flexible work for its senior staff. NAB's chief executive Ross McEwan has told his senior staff that they are required back in the office five days a week, as part of a global revolt against remote work.
IBM's global chief Arvind Krishna has recently ordered his
260,000 employees to return back to the office or face losing career
opportunities.
